All ancient cultures had unique uses for their properties. Amulets and talismans were worn in Ancient Rome for protection and prosperity. The Egyptians priests had wands filled with salt and crystals used for recharging and balancing. Remember Liz Taylor’s Cleopatra with all that blue eye shadow? That was actually meant to be crushed Lapis Lazuli. Cleopatra famously powdered it and wore it on her eyes to help bring enlightenment and heightened awareness to the crown chakra. The Chinese followed pursuit of the Egyptians and used crystals in acupuncture needles for healing. The also used salt crystals rooms for their healing powers. Don’t be fooled by wizards and their crystal balls in Medieval Europe or “Merry Oyld England”, this actually came from Japan, where crystals were used to foretell the future and were mystically tied to the power, wisdom and strength of a dragon. The Hindus, in their Vedas, documented extensive use of crystals and their healing properties. In fact, Ayurveda medicine considers crystals and gemstones the most significant of tools for environmental, karmic and physical healing. Most modern healers follow the Aurveda traditions for crystal uses today.
